Who We Are
Resurrection Lutheran Church of Alpena is committed to being rooted in the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions while working to fulfill Christ's Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations. We have a great respect for the reality that the church is where the people of God gather together around Word and Sacrament and then go forth to live as witnesses to His love and mercy.

Events and Spotlights
WEDNESDAY WORSHIP AND MEALS: Come and join us for Lenten midweek worship at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5th. These are 30-40 minute worship services centered around the sermon series, “Miracles of Lent.” A light meal will be served each Wednesday at 5:45 p.m., hosted by several of our small group/Bible study groups.
CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S BOOK CLUB: The RLCA Christian Women's book club is reading Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly this month. The story is centered around three women - each from 3 different countries: Poland, Germany, and, America. - (before, during and after World War II). The book is based on the lives of real women in history. It should make for a very interesting discussion at the next meeting on Wednesday, March 22 at 6 pm at Cabin Creek Coffee. Please contact Joanne Gallagher if you have any questions.
MARCH SERVICE PROJECT: Personal Care Kits are shared with folks who have lost everything from a natural disaster or life-threatening violence. These kits are simple tools... that give an extraordinary gift - the preservation of one's God-given dignity while staying healthy for a future with hope. Kits should include the following items:
  • one light weight bath towel (approx. 52" x 27"), dark color
  • two 4-5 oz. bars of soap in original wrapping
  • one adult size toothbrush in original packing (no toothpaste)
  • one sturdy comb
  • one metal nail clipper with file attached (remove packaging)
Items should be new. Wrap items in the towel and secure with ribbons or yarn. Do not enclose items in a plastic bag. For questions please contact Barb Timm. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
